here i am
holding the tall weeds
back with my hands
for you
using my heel
to redirect the thorny
blackberry canes
like a railroad switch
for you
and in the first place
why ever i am here
fanning flames
and carving names
i think we are both here for
you
I like how this feels. It's ambiguous in a way that invites multiple readings. The "you" can be both symbolic and physical - I think it's probably both. The physical gestures seem to point toward something deeper, something more profound, without ever abandoning their literal meaning.
